Mazir ("we", "our", "the app") is a meal planning and nutrition tracking application. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Mazir is designed with a local-first architecture. By default, all your data stays on your device:

• Recipes, meal plans, and nutrition data — stored locally in your browser or device using SQLite.
• Account information — if you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password for authentication.
• Synced data — if you sign in, your local data is synced to our cloud database so you can access it across devices.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect personal health or medical data.
• We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
• We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.
• We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.

How We Use Your Data

If you create an account, your data is used solely to:

• Authenticate you and manage your session.
• Sync your recipes and meal plans across your devices.

Data Storage and Security

Cloud data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and follow security best practices for data at rest.

Third-Party Services

• Google Cloud Platform — cloud infrastructure and database hosting.
• Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection.
• USDA FoodData Central — nutrition data lookups (no personal data is sent).

Your Rights

You can:

• Use the app entirely offline without creating an account.
• Request a copy of your data at any time.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data.

Children's Privacy

Mazir is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
