Data Deletion & Data Takeout

Your Rights

At Mazir, we respect your right to control your personal data. You have the right to:

• Request a copy of your data (Data Takeout)
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data

Data Takeout

You can request a complete export of all your data stored in Mazir. This includes:

• Your account information (email, profile settings)
• All your recipes (ingredients, instructions, nutrition data, tags)
• Your meal plans and scheduled meals
• Nutrition tracking data
• Any other personal data associated with your account

The data will be provided in a machine-readable format (JSON) that you can import into other applications or keep for your records.

Data Deletion

You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data. When you request data deletion, the following will be permanently removed from our systems:

• Your account: Email, password hash, authentication tokens, profile information
• Recipes: All recipes you've created, including ingredients, instructions, and nutrition data
• Meal plans: All meal plans and scheduled meals
• Nutrition data: All tracked nutrition information
• Activity data: Timestamps, usage statistics, and behavioral data

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We recommend requesting a data takeout before deleting your account if you want to keep a copy of your data.

How to Request Data Takeout or Deletion

We will verify your identity to ensure we're responding to the actual account owner before processing your request.

Processing Time

We aim to process all data takeout and deletion requests within 30 days of receiving your verified request. In most cases, we'll respond much faster.

You will receive a confirmation email when:

• We receive your request
• Your data export is ready for download (for takeout requests)
• Your data has been deleted (for deletion requests)

Technical Details

Data Takeout: We'll provide your data in JSON format, structured to match our GraphQL schema.

Data Deletion: All data is permanently deleted from our production database and backups. Note that some anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained for service improvement purposes, but this data cannot be linked back to you.
